But before we jump into any bucket list places, experiences, and activities let’s begin by having a short definition of the term ‘bucket list’, so that we are all on the same page, right?

What is the Bucket List?

According to this online dictionary, a bucket list is a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime. You can simply think of it as a list of things you want to do before you kick the bucket.

This term was popularised by a 2007 movie, The Bucket List. in this film, Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson are diagnosed with cancer and they come up with a bucket list of things they want to do before they succumb to cancer.

With that being said, let’s get back to the topic of the day: bucket list ideas for 2020.

What to Put in Your Bucket List for 2020

Most people do not realize this, but bucket lists can actually motivate you to follow your dreams by doing what really makes you happy. Don’t think of a bucket list as a to-do list, but as a wishlist of things you’d actually want to do in your life.

To make it easy for you or rather to give you ideas, you probably should visit Turkey. Do you know why? Take a look at some of the amazing inspirations that you will experience in Turkey:

See places that you do not see before (Like Istanbul)

Istanbul is a city like no other. And this is not an exaggeration. Think about it, why would three of the world’s greatest ancient empires – Byzantine, Roman, and Ottoman – make the city their capital? As if that is not enough, the world’s greatest poets and acclaimed writers have penned an ode to this marvelous city.

The reasons that make Istanbul more special are aplenty. The city sits on two continents – Europe and Asia – and it is encircled by the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. The Bosphorus Strait is probably the most defining feature of the city because it is a narrow waterway that splits two continents. This ultimately means that when you cruise on the Bosphorus, you will have a clear-cut view of both Europe and Asia.

By virtue of being home to three great empires, Istanbul has historical monuments dotted across the city. Some examples of these monumental landmarks include Hagia Sophia Museum, the 17th-century Blue Mosque, Underground Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Galata Tower, etc. The city also has a variety of boutique shops, rooftop restaurants, bars, and cafes.
