Female Plastic Surgery Trends in 2018

Women were and are the primary object of focus for plastic surgeons. In recent years, some of the plastic surgeries became accepted in men. Still, it is women whose pursuit of better look and happiness are commonly accepted. Additionally, their search for rejuvenated and improved look is supported by ongoing developments in aesthetic medicine. Today, growing numbers of women may enjoy novelty techniques of plastic surgery as well as improved versions of classical procedures.

In this article, we are trying to present the types of female plastic surgery which are thought to be especially popular in 2018. As we will see, some of the procedures such as breast augmentation and rhinoplasty are still leading despite years of being on the market while others such as fat freezing only recently started attracting the attention of patients.

Botox

botox

Botox injections are not a new thing. For decades already women use it to give their faces and other body parts some elasticity. In this procedure, small amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into specific muscles by using a very thin needle. Your doctor weakens only the targeted muscles by carefully focusing on them without affecting your natural facial expressions.

A skilfully chosen dose of Botox makes the muscles and skin tighter. However, the effects of injections disappear within a few months which has both good and bad sides. Good - because if you don’t like the effects of Botox on you, you may simply not renew the dose. Bad – because once you like the rejuvenated look Botox grants you, you need to keep repeating the procedure. Still, the temporary effects of Botox make it still one of the most popular plastic surgeries of 2018.

Dermal Fillers

dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are thought by many to be the next-generation Botox. However, while they are also injections and bring similar results, the way they work differs significantly. Botox is a mild poison used to stimulate the muscles, while dermal fillers are substances which simply fill the skin making it look tighter and younger. This popular treatment has been chosen by men as well as women. More than 1 million men and women annually have had dermal fillers by considering it as a cost-effective way to look younger without surgery. The results of dermal fillers are, as in Botox, temporary and stay with us for a couple of months.

Fat Transfer

fat transfer

Fat transfer also enjoys women’s attention in 2018. This plastic surgery involves liposuction of extra fat (usually from the lower abdomen) and using this material in breast augmentation or other procedures aiming at emphasizing our shapes. Therefore, it is a quite practical procedure since it removes the extra fat tissue from places we don’t want it and inserts it into the body parts which could use some reshaping. As a new technique of liposuction, vaser liposuction is also widely demanded procedure by women in recent years.

Fat Freezing

fat freezing

This new trend has already spread across the world, with celebrities and regular people alike deciding for this new form of weight loss procedure. Unlike liposuction, fat freezing does not include a proper plastic surgery. Fat breezing procedure is a nonsurgical procedure also called cryolipolysis, which eliminates fat cells by freezing them. It is a safe and effective treatment of excess fat deposits on the outer thighs, or "saddlebags," reports a study in the July 2017 issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). The perspective of losing kilos without the surgery and recovery process has proven to be very attractive for patients. Therefore, fat freezing has become one of the rising stars of 2018.

Breast Augmentation

breast augmentation

Breast augmentation with its many forms is not surprisingly the top surgery of 2018. As it was in the previous years, women most often consider breast enlargement surgeries for having well-shaped and big breasts either by fat transfer or artificial implants such as saline implants and silicone implants. Apart from breast augmentation, other breast surgeries such as breast lift and breast reduction are also popular options among women.

Rhinoplasty

rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty may be conducted for three independent reasons: as the way of reconstructing the nose after an accident, a solution to breathing problems, or as a purely cosmetic surgery. In the recent years, the majority of rhinoplasty surgeries is conducted for the latter and there is no sign suggesting that 2018 will be any different.

Facelift

facelift

The facelift has enjoyed a great popularity both in 2018 and in previous years due to it being a permanent solution. Unlike Botox and dermal fillers which disappear with time, a nicely done facelift promises you long-lasting effects. Additionally, the wave of criticism surrounding older techniques of facelift has led to a steady increase in quality. Today, our face may undergo a facelift without looking like windswept or pulled back. Together with facelift, there are different facelift techniques such as thread face lift and other facial operations such as eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), chin surgery or neck contouring which are also highly preferred by considerable amounts of women.

Vaginoplasty

vaginoplasty

Quick developments in the field of female plastic surgery have paved the road to new, promising cosmetic procedures such as vaginoplasty. As the name suggests, during vaginoplasty doctors reshape the patient’s vagina in order to give it a nice look. Vaginoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that aims to tighten up a vagina which becomes loose after vaginal childbirth or because of aging. While it is still a rather rare novelty, an increasing number of women have decided for vaginoplasty in recent years and 2018 is thought to bring only more patients than the previous one.

Mommy Makeover

mommy makeover

Mommy makeover is a set of plastic surgeries conducted in one surgery and including liposuction, fat transfer, breast augmentation, and others. It is especially popular among young mothers who want to have a kind of transformation to achieve their pre-pregnancy shapes without spending too much time in the gym. Because the breasts and abdomen remarkably change with motherhood, a mommy makeover will often center around the procedures focusing on these areas.

As with every multiple procedure, the biggest concern of this procedure is financial focus. While searching a good clinic offering high quality and best price alternatives, you may start to think about undergoing this surgery abroad, in a country such as Turkey which has affordable and reputable clinics in it.

Mommy Makeover became especially common during the last couple of years and it is expected to be one of the most popular female plastic surgery types in 2018.
