Which treatments can I get from Op. Dr. Serkan?

Acid-Reflux Surgery

As the name suggests, this surgery is designed to combat or treat acid reflux –which is also known as GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). GERD is a condition in which food or stomach acid comes back up from your stomach into the esophagus. This happens when the muscles where the esophagus meets the stomach do not close tightly enough. Symptoms of reflux or heartburn are burning in the stomach that you may also feel in your throat or chest, burping or gas bubbles, or trouble swallowing food or fluids.

Diabetes Surgery

With diabetes still being a chronic progressive disease, the surgery for diabetes brings with it certain understandings. By design, the surgery is an invasive treatment that carries its own set of possible side effects just like other surgical procedures. The surgery is performed when the patient is under anesthesia so as to avoid any pain or discomfort during the operation.
Gastric Botox

The gastric botox procedure facilitates weight loss by limiting the amount of food that a patient eats, and reducing the appetite. It takes less than 45 minutes to perform this procedure, and the patient can go back to doing his/her normal errands a day after the surgery. Four to six months after the procedure, patients are expected to have shed a lot of weight, approximately 15 to 20 kgs.

Gastric Bypass Surgery

Gastric bypass surgery is an invasive surgical procedure that involves dividing the stomach into a small upper pouch and a larger lower pouch. The basic idea of this surgery is to shrink the size of your stomach so that you don’t eat as much food as you used to. Simply put, part of your digestive system will be bypassed so that you don’t consume as much food.

There are two common types of gastric bypass surgery, and these are Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and Extensive gastric bypass.

Roux-en-Y gastric bypass is the most common type. This type of gastric bypass surgery requires surgeons to make a small incision, and this means that it has a quicker recovery period. Extensive gastric bypass is the less common type because probably because it is more complicated. Your surgeon will remove the lower part of your stomach and the remaining small pouch is connected directly to the last section of the small intestine, and this bypasses the first two parts completely.

Gastric Sleeve

Gastric sleeve or Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy is a surgical procedure that removes 75–80% of the stomach and leaves a banana-sized or sleeve portion of the stomach. After this surgery, you will feel full a lot quicker than you did before and this will help you shed a lot of weight. It is a surgery recommended for patients suffering from obesity or morbid obesity.

Lap Floppy Nissen Fundoplication

The success rate of this procedure, when performed by Dr. Serkan, is 99%. The healing process of this surgery is very swift, especially when you carefully follow the doctor’s instructions. In case of any sort of discomfort after the surgery, your doctor will prescribe meds.

Laparoscopic Ileal Interposition

This surgery helps control diabetes and in some cases, it permanently terminates type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). After having this surgery, drug treatment can be given at a low dosage depending on the patient’s condition. Due to the keyhole surgery application (laparoscopy), the recovery period – after this surgery – is swift and the pain is minimal.

Laparoscopic SADI-S

Among all the obesity surgery techniques, the laparoscopic SADI-S surgery is the most effective and permanent technique used in the weight-loss operations. SADI-S is the most effective when treating morbid obesity and type II diabetes mellitus (DM).

Obesity Surgery

When you’re between 18 and 60 years of age, Dr. Serkan will first have to know your eating and drinking habits, health condition, health disorders (if any) and also your health condition. This will help the doctor determine the approach to take when performing this obesity surgery.
