Why is the Brazilian Butt Lift Becoming so Popular?

Among other most googled surgeries in the world is Brazilian Butt Lift or BBL. And this can only mean one thing: it's becoming one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the whole world.

Why is BBL becoming so popular? I mean, this is one surgery that was once deemed as one of the most notorious cosmetic procedures. And if you are to make a quick Google search, you'll notice that tragic headlines still dog the procedure.

According to The Aesthetic Society, demand for butt augmentation—via fat transfer, gluteal implants, or a combination approach—jumped 61% between 2014 and 2018, driven by the popularity of the BBL: of the 26,774 butt augmentations logged in 2018, 94% were fat transfer.

When it comes to having a BBL, there are many reasons patients decide to have a procedure. The reasons could also be personal, such as people who want to increase their self-esteem or want to achieve a look they see on social media or on celebrity red carpets.

This article will reveal why BBL has gradually become one of the fastest-growing cosmetic surgeries in the world.

Let's get started.

BBL is getting safer

A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) surgery is a cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the appearance of buttocks by giving them a natural incredible look and feel.

The procedure involves the transfer of fat from one area of the patient's body to the buttocks. This procedure usually takes between two to four hours to perform.

Although the benefits of having a BBL are appealing, the number one reason why the surgery is becoming so popular is that it has become safer.

However, recent studies, including a pivotal new survey published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, show that the operation is gaining ground on the safety front. As reported by RealSelf News, the BBL's most up-to-date death rate is 1 in 14,952, when performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon.

But even though this procedure is turning out to be safer, it's essential to follow before and after surgery instructions that your surgeon gives you. In fact, here are the seven steps you should follow for a safe and successful BBL:

  1. Find (and vet) a plastic surgeon who's a BBL expert and safety advocate.
  2. Ask the right questions during consultations.
  3. Choose a doctor who inspires not only confidence but comfort.
  4. Have realistic goals.
  5. Prioritize proportions over volume.
  6. Prepare for a smooth recovery.
  7. Follow your surgeon's post-op guidelines to the letter.

The success of the BBL surgery is determined by the doctor's expertise and how the patient follows the surgeon's instructions. If you don't stick to what your doctor tells you to do, you shouldn't expect to get the desired results.

BBL has a short recovery period

Yes, we know that you have to avoid sitting to let the new fat graft develop for the first one or two weeks after the BBL surgery. The procedure includes the fat transfer to the buttocks, and this creates a time to recover. Patients should avoid placing pressure on the buttocks for two weeks and take conscious care to prevent excess sitting for another 4 to 8 weeks postoperatively.

You need to wear compression garments, relax and let somebody else take care of you. As you focus on the final results, those instructions should not seem too much. To catch up with all the books and movies awaiting, you may consider it as an advantage of this process.

After all, fat injections in the buttocks do not turn our lives to hell. After a lazy one or two weeks, you will be able to enjoy a normal, though a little relaxed, life.

Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery Is Effective

The idea behind the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure is pretty simple. Its main premise is fat injections in buttocks. Although the idea behind this procedure is simple to understand, it is still a highly complicated surgery performed by experienced surgeons only. When performed by the right hands, the results of the BBL surgery look more natural. In most cases, you can't tell if someone has had the surgery or not.

Brazilian Butt Lift Scars Are Almost Invisible

Because the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure is essentially a fat transfer and does not include skin removal as in traditional butt lift, the only scars involved are the incisions through which the liquefied fat was inserted. Moreover, these scars are usually safely hidden under your underwear, so there is no way that your BBL surgery will negatively affect your self-esteem. The surgeon makes cuts underneath the buttock area during the procedure, where the surgical scar won't be noticeable.
